- Adults: For treatment of chronic hepatitis B, the usual dose is 0.5 mg daily for those without prior antiviral resistance, or 1 mg daily for patients with lamivudine-resistant HBV or decompensated liver disease.
- Children: Only for children over 2 years of age weighing at least 10 kg. Dosing for those 16 and older generally follows adult recommendations.
Ertivix 1 is used to manage chronic hepatitis B infection in adults, children, and adolescents (2-18 years old). Hepatitis B is a viral infection that attacks the liver and can cause both acute and chronic disease.
Prior to the management, your doctor may want you to take several blood tests to understand your existing condition. Before taking Ertivix 1, inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart disease, or HIV infection. Ertivix 1 is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Ertivix 1 is not recommended for use in children (less than 2 years of age). Consult your doctor before taking it. The most common side effects of taking Ertivix 1 are headache, inability to sleep, extreme tiredness, dizziness, sleepiness, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, or indigestion. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects get worse.
