HB-Fix is available in the following formulations:
- 0.5 mL dose: Contains more than 10 mcg of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) adsorbed on Aluminium Hydroxide gel, equivalent to 0.25 mg of Al³⁺.
- 1 mL dose: Contains more than 20 mcg of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) adsorbed on Aluminium Hydroxide gel, equivalent to 0.5 mg of Al³⁺.
- HB-Fix is designed for active immunization against infections caused by all known subtypes of the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). Additionally, since Hepatitis D (caused by the delta virus) cannot occur without the presence of an HBV infection, vaccination with HB-Fix is expected to offer protection against Hepatitis D as well.
- Vaccination with HB-Fix is recommended for individuals of all age groups, particularly for those at an elevated risk of exposure to HBV.
- HB-Fix is a noninfectious recombinant DNA vaccine formulated for protection against Hepatitis B. This sterile suspension contains purified surface antigens of the Hepatitis B virus, which are produced using advanced genetic engineering techniques.
- The antigen is generated by Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast) cells that have been genetically modified to carry the gene encoding the Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). The antigen expressed in these yeast cells undergoes rigorous purification through multiple physicochemical processes, ensuring a high degree of purity.
- The final vaccine is presented as a suspension where the antigen is adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide to enhance its immunogenicity. Importantly, no human-derived substances are used in the production process, ensuring both safety and purity.
