Description

  • Hepatitis B Vaccine (rDNA) Vaccine is indicated for prevention of infection caused by all known subtypes of hepatitis B virus. Recombivax HB is approved for use in individuals of all ages.

Hepatitis, especially in its acute phase, may not always present noticeable symptoms or signs. However, when they do occur, they can be general and include:

  • Fatigue: Feeling unusually tired and lacking energy.
  • Nausea: Experiencing a queasy or unsettled feeling in the stomach.
  • Decreased Appetite: A reduced desire to eat or loss of appetite.
  • Mild Fever: Slight elevation in body temperature.
  • Mild Abdominal Pain: Discomfort or pain in the abdominal area.

As the disease progresses, more specific symptoms and signs of liver disease may manifest, including:

  • Jaundice: Yellowing of the skin and eyes, caused by a buildup of bilirubin in the bloodstream.
  • Dark Urine: Urine appears darker in color due to the presence of excess bilirubin.

When hepatitis becomes chronic, which is the case with hepatitis B and C lasting longer than six months, more severe symptoms and signs of chronic liver disease can develop. At this stage, the liver is often significantly damaged.

It’s important to note that the severity and progression of hepatitis can vary among individuals, and not everyone with hepatitis will experience all of these symptoms. If you suspect you have hepatitis or are experiencing any of these symptoms, it’s crucial to seek medical attention for proper diagnosis and management. Early detection and treatment can make a significant difference in the outcome of hepatitis.
