Lotecare T Ophthalmic Suspension
- Loteprednol Etabonate: A corticosteroid that inhibits the biosynthesis of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes by reducing arachidonic acid release.
- Tobramycin: An aminoglycoside antibiotic that exhibits bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
Lotecare T is indicated for steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions where a corticosteroid is required and bacterial infection or risk of bacterial infection exists. It is used in:
- Inflammatory conditions of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, cornea, and anterior segment (e.g., allergic conjunctivitis, acne rosacea, superficial punctate keratitis, herpes zoster keratitis, iritis, cyclitis).
- Chronic anterior uveitis.
- Chemical, radiation, thermal burns, or foreign body penetration cause corneal injuries.
- Post-operative inflammation after ocular surgery.
