Nervion is prescribed for the management of:

  • Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (DPNP)
  • Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN)
  • Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (PNP)

Mirogabalin, a derivative of gamma-amino acids, selectively binds to the α2δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs). Reducing calcium influx into presynaptic neurons suppresses neurotransmitter release and decreases CNS hyperexcitability.

  • Absorption: Rapid, peak plasma levels within 0.5–1.5 hrs
  • Protein Binding: ~25% (low)
  • Distribution: 64–88 L
  • Metabolism: Mostly unchanged via renal excretion; 13–20% by UGT enzymes
  • Elimination Half-life: 2–4.9 hrs
  • Excretion: ~99% through urine
