Oxecone-M contains Magaldrate, a hydroxymagnesium aluminate compound.
In the stomach, it rapidly converts into magnesium hydroxide [Mg(OH)₂] and aluminium hydroxide [Al(OH)₃].
These compounds are poorly absorbed, providing a sustained antacid effect without significant systemic absorption.
Oxecone-M is prescribed for the relief of:
- Dyspepsia
- Heartburn
- Acid indigestion
- Sour stomach
- Gastroesophageal reflux and hiatal hernia
- Flatulence
It is also beneficial in hyperacidity linked with peptic ulcers, gastritis, and esophagitis. Use in children is possible if recommended by a physician.
