Penadios is used for the treatment and prevention of:
- Irregular menstruation
- Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms such as abdominal pain, sleep disturbance, breast tenderness, acne, headache, and mood swings
- Hyperprolactinemia
- Mastodynia (breast pain)

Penadios contains Chaste berry (Vitex agnus-castus), a medicinal plant native to Western Asia and Southwestern Europe. It has long been used for gynecological disorders due to its dopaminergic activity.
Active compounds: iridoid glycosides (agnuside, aucubin) and flavonoids (casticin).
Mode of action:
Acts as a hormonal regulator by enhancing progesterone production and reducing estrogen levels through corpus luteum stimulation.
Exerts central action on the pituitary gland:
Inhibits follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) release
Stimulates luteinizing hormone (LH) release
Decreases prolactin secretion via dopaminergic effect
Additional uses: fibrocystic breast disease, lactation insufficiency, luteal phase defects, prevention of miscarriage in early pregnancy due to progesterone deficiency, and acne vulgaris.
