Peuli 30 falls under the category of medications known as progesterone agonist/antagonist emergency contraceptives. Its primary purpose is to prevent unintended pregnancy following unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. It is not intended for regular contraceptive use. A lower dosage of ulipristal acetate, the active ingredient in Peuli 30, may also be prescribed to alleviate moderate to severe symptoms associated with uterine fibroids, which are benign tumors in the uterus.

Ulipristal acetate in Peuli 30 works by interfering with the normal functioning of progesterone and by delaying or preventing the release of an egg, thus serving as an emergency contraceptive.

To be effective, Peuli 30 should be taken within 120 hours (5 days) after intercourse. While it should not be relied upon as a primary method of contraception, it can be used multiple times within a menstrual cycle if necessary. Common side effects may include headaches, abdominal pain, nausea, dysmenorrhea, fatigue, and dizziness. Changes in the timing or intensity of menstrual periods may also occur. While most side effects tend to diminish over time, persistent adverse effects should be discussed with a healthcare provider.

It is important not to use Peuli 30 if allergic to ulipristal acetate or any of its components. Consultation with a healthcare professional is advised for individuals with severe asthma or liver disease before using this medication. Pregnant women should avoid Peuli 30, and nursing mothers should refrain from breastfeeding for one week after taking the medication. Some individuals may experience blurred vision, drowsiness, or dizziness, in which case activities such as driving or operating machinery should be avoided. Consumption of grapefruit juice should be avoided while using Peuli 30. This medication is not recommended for individuals under the age of 18.
