Prucalopride is prescribed for the treatment of chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC)—a condition where bowel movements are infrequent, hard, or incomplete for at least three months, without any identifiable medical cause or medication trigger.
It is usually given to adults when standard laxatives do not provide enough relief.
