Revocon/Tetrabenazine 12.5 is used for treating involuntary movements (chorea) caused by Huntington’s disease.Â
- Tetrabenazine is used to treat chorea associated with Huntington’s disease, a genetic condition that causes damage to nerve cells in the brain. It works by reducing the levels of certain chemicals that cause abnormal movements.
- Common side effects of Tetrabenazine include headache, nausea, vomiting, depression, restlessness, body pain, and tiredness. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
- Avoid taking Tetrabenazine if you are allergic to it.
- Avoid activities that require mental focus, such as driving or operating machinery, as Tetrabenazine can cause drowsiness.
- Tetrabenazine may be taken with or without food. The dose and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor based on the severity of your condition. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor.
