Montelukast 4mg is intended for children (aged 6–14 years) to:
- Manage chronic asthma
- Alleviate symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes/nose)
- Prevent exercise-induced bronchospasms
- Asthma is a chronic condition characterized by airway inflammation, swelling, narrowing, and excessive mucus production, leading to symptoms such as wheezing, breathing difficulty, chest discomfort, and coughing.
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) is triggered by allergens like pollen, dust, molds, or pet dander, leading to nasal congestion, sneezing, and itchy or watery eyes.
Trilock Oral Granules contains Montelukast, a medication from the Leukotriene Receptor Antagonist class. It is used to manage asthma symptoms and seasonal allergic rhinitis in children and adolescents aged 6–14 years. It also helps prevent bronchospasms caused by exercise.
Trilock Oral Granules does not stop ongoing asthma attacks. Therefore, it is crucial to keep a rescue inhaler accessible for emergencies. Ensure your child takes this medication as prescribed by the doctor and inform the healthcare provider of any pre-existing conditions or allergies before starting treatment.
