Trio Acucap is a combination inhaler containing:
Vilanterol (LABA) – relaxes airway muscles and helps prevent bronchospasm
Umeclidinium (LAMA) – widens airways by blocking certain receptors in the lungs
Fluticasone Furoate (ICS) – reduces inflammation in the airways
This combination helps manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma in adults.
Important: Not for relief of sudden asthma or COPD attacks.
- Not indicated for patients under 18 years; safety and efficacy not established
- Not for acute attacks – do not use for sudden breathing problems
- LABA caution: Monotherapy can increase serious asthma-related risks
- Mouth infections: Rinse after inhalation; Candida infections may occur
- Infections: Monitor for pneumonia in COPD; caution with TB, fungal, viral, or bacterial infections
- Long-term ICS use: May affect adrenal function, bone density, eyes (glaucoma/cataracts), or urinary retention
- Cardiovascular caution: Monitor in patients with heart conditions
- Other cautions: Thyrotoxicosis, diabetes, ketoacidosis, convulsions, hypokalemia, hyperglycemia
