Ulfix is indicated for adults and adolescents (14 years and older) in the treatment of:
- Duodenal ulcer
- Gastric ulcer
- Chronic gastritis
- Prophylaxis of gastrointestinal hemorrhage from stress ulceration in critically ill patients
Sucralfate is a non-systemic drug that is minimally absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The small amount absorbed is primarily excreted in urine. Sucralfate promotes ulcer healing by forming a protective barrier over ulcer sites, inhibiting pepsin and bile action to prevent further damage.
