Vericiguat is a medication belonging to the class of soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulators. It is prescribed to reduce the risk of death and hospitalizations in adults with heart failure, a condition where the heart cannot pump blood as efficiently as needed.Â
Take Vericiguat exactly as your healthcare provider instructs. While using this medication, you may experience side effects like low blood pressure (hypotension), anemia, dizziness, or light-headedness. These side effects are often temporary and resolve on their own, but if they persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Before starting Vericiguat, inform your doctor if you have any allergies to medications or food. This medication may cause harm to a fetus, so it is important not to become pregnant while using Vericiguat and for one month after stopping the medication. Effective contraception is advised during treatment. If you or your partner becomes pregnant during therapy, contact your doctor immediately. Breastfeeding is generally not recommended while taking this medication. Its safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.
