- Continue taking it regularly, even if you have no symptoms—this means the medicine is working.
- It does not relieve sudden shortness of breath; always use your rescue inhaler for sudden attacks.
- Proper inhaler technique is essential to get the full benefit.
- Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, cough, sore throat, hoarseness, fungal infections in the mouth, headache, increased heart rate, and musculoskeletal pain.
- Most side effects can be reduced by rinsing your mouth or brushing your teeth after use.
- Serious but rare side effects may occur; consult your doctor if concerned.
- Inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver issues, are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Pregnant women with asthma may have higher risk of preeclampsia, preterm birth, or low birth weight.
- Budesonide is present in breast milk; Formoterol may be present (rat studies).
- Use during breastfeeding only if benefits outweigh potential risks.
